Clavis PDF Tools Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026
App: Clavis PDF Tools Developer: Clavis Enterprises Ltd.
The short version
Clavis PDF Tools keeps your documents on your device. We don't collect, upload, share, or sell any information about you, your usage, or your files.
What we don't do
- No accounts. You don't sign in. We don't know who you are.
- No analytics. We don't measure how you use the app.
- No third-party SDKs. The app is built entirely with Apple's frameworks (PDFKit, VisionKit, Vision, CoreText, SwiftUI). Nothing sends data to any server.
- No advertising. We don't show ads or share any identifiers with ad networks.
- No cross-app tracking. We don't participate in App Tracking Transparency because there is nothing to track.
What stays on your device
Your PDFs, editable documents, annotations, and metadata are stored in the app's private container on your iPhone or iPad. They stay there. Reading positions, bookmarks, favorites, sort order, and reader preferences are saved locally in the app's settings. All processing — text extraction, paragraph reflow, PDF creation, rich-text editing, annotation, thumbnail generation, and search — runs on your device.
When files leave your device
Only when you explicitly send them:
- Share sheet. Tapping the Share button opens iOS's system share sheet. You choose the destination (AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Files, another app). Nothing leaves without your direct action.
- iCloud. If you save a file to a location backed by iCloud Drive, Apple's iCloud handles that transfer under Apple's privacy terms.
Camera and photos:
Camera is used only when you tap "Scan Document" to capture pages. The captured images are processed on-device by Apple's document-scanning framework and saved as a PDF in your library. They are not uploaded anywhere. Photos are chosen via Apple's system photo picker. The app only sees the images you pick — never your full photo library.
File system access:
Documents folder. Clavis PDF Tools reads and writes files in its own app container. Its "Inbox" folder is visible via the Files app so you can drop PDFs into the app. Files app share extension. When you share a PDF from another app to Clavis PDF Tools, iOS hands us a copy of that file. We save it to your library and nothing else.
Children:
Clavis PDF Tools is suitable for all ages. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no user-generated content shared with other users, and no data collection.
Data retention and deletion
Because we don't collect any data, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. To delete your documents, delete them from within the app or uninstall the app (which removes all locally-stored data).
Changes
If we ever change how Clavis PDF Tools handles data, we will update this document with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after such a change indicates acceptance.
